People and machines both need to answer basic questions: Who is this? What organization are they associated with? What do they specialize in? Conflicting answers create ambiguity.
List the pages most likely to define you: your website, About page, professional profiles, marketplace profiles, author bios, association listings and high-quality interviews. Record the exact name, role, organization, location if relevant, and primary expertise shown on each.
Not every wording difference is a problem. Prioritize contradictions: old company names, obsolete roles, mismatched domains, materially different expertise statements, duplicate identities or pages that imply the wrong relationship.
Correct the sources you control first, then request changes to important third-party profiles. Keep a simple evidence log with the URL, issue, correction and date checked so the process can be repeated.
